Privacy Policy

How TaleHalo protects family accounts, stories, and private media

Our Privacy Promise

TaleHalo helps parents and guardians create family picture books. Stories, child profiles, illustrations, and narration assets are private by default. Sharing is optional, requires an explicit guardian decision, and can be revoked.

Information We Handle

Depending on the features you use, TaleHalo may handle:

  • Account information, such as a parent or guardian's name, email address, authentication records, and account preferences;
  • Family book content, including child-profile details supplied by a guardian, story text, review notes, illustration directions, generated artwork, and reading progress;
  • Narration material, including the selected reading voice and resulting private audio when narration is requested;
  • Purchase and support records, such as payment status, product entitlement, and messages sent through the contact form; and
  • Limited technical information needed for security, reliability, and, after optional consent, public-site analytics.

Please provide only the child information needed to personalize a story. Do not include addresses, school details, contact information, or other unnecessary sensitive information in a child profile or story prompt.

How We Use Information

We use this information to authenticate guardians, create and preserve requested books, generate approved story media, provide narration and reading features, process purchases, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and maintain service security and reliability.

We do not sell personal information or use a child's book content for targeted advertising.

Children and Guardian Control

TaleHalo accounts are intended to be created and managed by adults. We do not ask children to create accounts or provide information directly. A parent or guardian controls child-profile information, book content, narration choices, and whether a completed book may be shared.

Private Sharing

Books are private unless a guardian enables sharing for a ready book. A share link is revocable and should be given only to intended readers. Withdrawing sharing consent revokes active links and access to shared media. Anyone who has a valid link may be able to view that shared book until access is revoked or expires.

Service Providers

TaleHalo uses service providers for infrastructure, authentication, email, payments, storage, story and image generation, narration, and optional public-site analytics. Providers receive only the information needed to perform the requested function and process it under their own security and privacy obligations.

Optional analytics providers are loaded only on approved public pages after consent. They are not loaded in private workspaces, readers, or share links. See our Cookie Policy for details and controls.

Retention, Deletion, and Security

We keep account and book data while needed to provide the service, meet legal or payment obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Account deletion removes attributable private content through TaleHalo's verified cleanup flow; limited operational or transaction records may be retained when legally required.

We use access controls, private storage, encrypted transport, revocable sharing, and bounded operational logging. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so guardians should avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in story content.

Your Choices

You can review or update account information, keep books private, revoke sharing, change optional analytics consent, and request account deletion through the available TaleHalo controls. Questions or privacy requests can be sent through our contact page.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as TaleHalo develops. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
